Changelog
4.0.4
Bug Fixes:
- Updated hover state on twitter/X logo.
4.0.3
Enhancements:
- Updated the background color of the X icon.
4.0.2
Enhancements:
- Replaced twitter bird logo with the X logo within the SVG and appropriately updated text and styles.
4.0.1
Enhancements:
- Added composer file.
4.0.0
Breaking changes:
- Removed the
[ucf-social-feed]shortcode. If your site still requires Curator social feeds, we recommend adding Curator widgets to pages manually using embed snippets provided by Curator, or by using the UCF Page Assets Plugin to upload Curator JavaScript per-page where feeds are needed. - Dropped IE support from generated CSS completely.
- Replaced usage of Font Awesome 4 icons (and dependency on Font Awesome) in favor of including our own SVG icons. If you've defined custom layouts for the
[ucf-social-icons]and[ucf-social-links]shortcodes in your theme or another plugin, you should test to confirm those layouts are still styled correctly after upgrading to v4.0.0.
Enhancements:
- Bumped the max character limit for sharable tweets from 140 to 280.
- Replaced
titleattr usage with.sr-onlytext in social share links.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed
"option_${option}"filter name string interpolation, so option formatting should work as expected now
3.0.7
Bug fixes:
- Re-added default markup strings for layout filters, fixing a bug introduced in v3.0.6 with custom layouts that don't define custom functions for all parts of the layout.
3.0.6
Enhancements:
- Added late enqueuing of JS for social feeds
- Removed redundant
has_filter()checks when generating markup for shortcode layouts - Added Github issue/PR templates and contributing doc; updated linter configs and gulpfile + gulp config
- Upgraded packages
- Updated plugin dependencies for clarity
Bug fixes:
- Removed
do_shortcode()call on content inUCF_Social_Common::has_social_feed()to avoid unnecessary 2x shortcode execution
Deprecated:
- Deprecated
UCF_Social_Common::enqueue_curator_widget_assets()anducf_social_enqueue_assets()
3.0.5
Enhancements:
- Adds TikTok.
3.0.4
Bug fixes:
- Removed duplicate ID attribute from wrapper element surrounding scrollbox layouts.
3.0.3
Bug fixes:
- Added role="note" to all
<aside>elements generated by the plugin to undesignate them as ARIA landmarks. - Fixed undefined index notice on scrollbox layouts.
3.0.2
Enhancements:
- Update Facebook Like to Share.
- Removed Google+ options.
- Updated gulpfile.js and package.json
- Ported over social css from WordPress Theme
3.0.1
Enhancements:
- Reordered the social-icons order.
3.0.0
Enhancements:
- Refactored how social feed widgets are generated via the
[ucf-social-feed]shortcode, and how customization options are applied to them.- Customization options for feeds will now be fetched from Curator directly if a Curator API key is set in the plugin's settings.
- Individual widget settings can still be overridden using the new
options_fileshortcode attribute, and settings in the provided JSON file will take precedence over settings fetched from Curator. Theoptions_fileattribute will accept either an attachment ID or a direct URL to a JSON file. See Curator's widget documentation for information on how to structure options. - Added the new
typeattribute to replace what we were using previously on thelayoutattribute (for defining whether the widget should be "Waterfall", "Grid", etc). Thelayoutattribute should now be used for overrides to how widget markup is generated, but we've added some backward compatibility for existing shortcodes that still use thelayoutattribute for this. - 3 new layouts have been added:
scrollbox,scrollbox_sm, andscrollbox_lg, which wrap the generated widget in a scrollabledivat larger screen widths.
- Added the ability to specify a default feed ID, feed type, and widget version in plugin settings. Curator widget CSS/JS is now enqueued based on the widget version specified.
- Added a transient flush button to the plugin settings page, which will flush and re-fetch cached Curator feed customization data from Curator's API.
- Added basic compatibility with the WP Shortcode Interface plugin.
Breaking changes:
- The
grid-rowsandgrid-widthshortcode attributes on[ucf-social-feed]have been removed. You should now apply these overrides within Curator directly or by using the newoptions_fileattribute.
2.1.0
Enhancements:
- Added plugin options and attributes to the
[ucf-social-links]shortcode that allow you to specify what social sharing links you'd like to include/exclude. For backward compatibility, Facebook, and Twitter are enabled by default. - Added LinkedIn and Email link options for
[ucf-social-links] - Split existing plugins options out into grouped sections
- Removed unused shortcode attr formatting hook + method (
UCF_Social_Config::format_sc_atts())
2.0.0
Enhancements:
- Adds a non-nested layout system for all shortcodes. All shortcodes now support the 'layout' attribute, and all have a standard 'default' layout. All
beforeandafterlayout parts can now be overridden via hooks. - Re-organized layout functions and styles into separate files.
- Added
permalinkandshare_textattributes to the [ucf-social-links] shortcode, which allow you to specify a custom URL that should be shared (in lieu of the current global$post's permalink), and adjust the contents of a generated tweet message, respectively. - Updated markup for social links to add
aria-hiddento FA icons, genericize the share titles for each button ("share this content" vs "share this story"), and wrap the inner text of each button in a span (.btn-text) to make it easier to apply style overrides.
Bug fixes:
- Updated all layout functions to return instead of echo their results
- Fixed duplicate ID issue with the social feed shortcode's generated placeholder div by implementing a unique ID by default (using
wp_rand()) - Fixed
has_filter()checks in includes/ucf-social-common.php that all checked the same set of filters (instead of shortcode-specific filters)
Breaking changes:
Because this version removes existing functions and hooks, it is tagged with a major version bump; however, you should be able to seamlessly upgrade to this version from 1.0.7 as long as you weren't utilizing any of those functions/hooks directly. See list below for a list of what's been removed.
Removed/renamed functions:
ucf_social_icons_display_before()->ucf_social_icons_display_default_before()ucf_social_icons_display()->ucf_social_icons_display_default()ucf_social_icons_display_after()->ucf_social_icons_display_default_after()ucf_social_links_display_before()->ucf_social_links_display_default_before()ucf_social_links_display()->ucf_social_links_display_default()ucf_social_links_display_after()->ucf_social_links_display_default_after()ucf_social_feed_display_before()->ucf_social_feed_display_default_before()ucf_social_feed_display()->ucf_social_feed_display_default()ucf_social_feed_display_after()->ucf_social_feed_display_default_after()
Removed hooks:
