- Friendly simple interface
- Easy of set titles and meta tags
- Easy of set metas for Twitter Cards and Open Graph
- Easy of set for JSON Linked Data
- Easy of set for PWA (Progressive web application)
Installation
1 - Dependency
The first step is using composer to install the package and automatically update your composer.json
file, you can do this by running:
composer require turahe/seotools
Note: If you are using Laravel 5.5, the steps 2 and 3, for providers and aliases, are unnecessaries. SEOTools supports Laravel new Package Discovery.
2 - Provider
You need to update your application configuration in order to register the package so it can be loaded by Laravel, just update your config/app.php
file adding the following code at the end of your 'providers'
section:
config/app.php
<?php return [ // ... 'providers' => [ Turahe\SEOTools\Providers\SEOToolsServiceProvider::class, // ... ], // ... ];
Lumen
Go to /bootstrap/app.php
file and add this line:
<?php // ... $app = new Laravel\Lumen\Application( dirname(__DIR__) ); // ... $app->register(Turahe\SEOTools\Providers\SEOToolsServiceProvider::class); // ... return $app;
3 - Facades
Note: facades are not supported in Lumen.
You may get access to the SEO tool services using following facades:
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\Tools
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\OpenGraph
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\TwitterCard
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\JsonLd
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\JsonLdMulti
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\SEOTools
Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\PWA
You can setup a short-version aliases for these facades in your config/app.php
file. For example:
<?php return [ // ... 'aliases' => [ 'Meta' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\Tools::class, 'OpenGraph' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\OpenGraph::class, 'Twitter' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\TwitterCard::class, 'JsonLd' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\JsonLd::class, 'JsonLdMulti' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\JsonLdMulti::class, 'Manifest' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\PWA::class, // or 'SEO' => Turahe\SEOTools\Facades\SEOTools::class, // ... ], // ... ];

Troubleshooting
While running the Laravel test server:
- Verify that
/manifest.json
is being served - Verify that
/serviceworker.js
is being served - Use the Application tab in the Chrome Developer Tools to verify the progressive web app is configured correctly.
- Use the "Add to homescreen" link on the Application Tab to verify you can add the app successfully.
The Service Worker
By default, the service worker implemented by this app is:
var staticCacheName = "pwa-v" + new Date().getTime(); var filesToCache = [ '/offline', '/css/app.css', '/js/app.js', '/images/icons/icon-72x72.png', '/images/icons/icon-96x96.png', '/images/icons/icon-128x128.png', '/images/icons/icon-144x144.png', '/images/icons/icon-152x152.png', '/images/icons/icon-192x192.png', '/images/icons/icon-384x384.png', '/images/icons/icon-512x512.png', '/images/icons/splash-640x1136.png', '/images/icons/splash-750x1334.png', '/images/icons/splash-1242x2208.png', '/images/icons/splash-1125x2436.png', '/images/icons/splash-828x1792.png', '/images/icons/splash-1242x2688.png', '/images/icons/splash-1536x2048.png', '/images/icons/splash-1668x2224.png', '/images/icons/splash-1668x2388.png', '/images/icons/splash-2048x2732.png' ]; // Cache on install self.addEventListener("install", event => { this.skipWaiting(); event.waitUntil( caches.open(staticCacheName) .then(cache => { return cache.addAll(filesToCache); }) ) }); // Clear cache on activate self.addEventListener('activate', event => { event.waitUntil( caches.keys().then(cacheNames => { return Promise.all( cacheNames .filter(cacheName => (cacheName.startsWith("pwa-"))) .filter(cacheName => (cacheName !== staticCacheName)) .map(cacheName => caches.delete(cacheName)) ); }) ); }); // Serve from Cache self.addEventListener("fetch", event => { event.respondWith( caches.match(event.request) .then(response => { return response || fetch(event.request); }) .catch(() => { return caches.match('offline'); }) ) });
To customize service worker functionality, update the public/serviceworker.js
.
The offline view
By default, the offline view is implemented in resources/views/vendor/seotools/offline.blade.php
@extends('layouts.app') @section('content') <h1>You are currently not connected to any networks.</h1> @endsection
