README

sightpress/plugin-file-importer: the official SightPress plugin for importing content from other systems. Licensed GPL-2.0-or-later.

Status: M0 scaffolding in place (manifest, bundle, quality gates, CI); features arrive in milestone M8.

It adds importers for:

• Markdown with front matter, mapped onto core pages (or another content type a site has enabled), with media, internal links and widgets converted to SightPress's reference-based Markdown.
• DOCX documents, converted through pandoc into canonical Markdown.

Every import runs as a background job, reports its progress in words, and leaves content as a draft for a human to review, describe and publish through the normal workflow — nothing is published automatically. Archives and uploaded files are checked for path traversal (zip-slip) and processed with timeouts.
