README

oocscommerce/module-lynx-mcp

An MCP server that lets AI assistants build and edit Lynx store pages.

Features

  • bin/magento lynx:mcp:serve runs the server
  • Tools to read designs, pages, components and layouts, save layouts, create designs and preview links
  • Catalog and CMS search, image upload to the media gallery
  • OAuth 2.1 with a pairing code approved by an admin; each tool is an ACL resource of the admin's role

Installation

Part of Lynx, installed with the metapackage:

composer require oocscommerce/magento2-lynx-community

See Installation for the full setup.

Connecting an assistant

  1. Run the server, e.g. as a systemd service, and put it behind HTTPS on its own subdomain:

    bin/magento lynx:mcp:serve --host=127.0.0.1 --port=7361
  2. Set Stores > Configuration > Lynx > MCP Server > Public URL to the address clients reach, e.g. https://mcp.example.com.

  3. Add the endpoint https://mcp.example.com/mcp to the assistant. In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http shop https://mcp.example.com/mcp

In Claude or ChatGPT, add it as a custom connector with the same URL.

  4. The assistant opens a page with an 8-character pairing code. An admin enters it in Lynx > MCP > Authorize Client and approves. The assistant can then use the tools the admin's role allows.

Scripts and CI can skip the pairing and pass an integration access token instead, with Stores > Configuration > Services > OAuth > Allow OAuth Access Tokens to be used as standalone Bearer tokens on:

claude mcp add --transport http shop https://mcp.example.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer <integration access token>"

Approved connections are listed, and revoked, in Lynx > MCP > Connections. See MCP Server for the systemd unit, nginx and every setting.
