WP Make allows to install a blank WordPress build (company plugins included) by running a single command. It will also install any dependencies specified as well as initialise a new repository and create the first commit for you.
Note: This project is still in the early stages of development so be careful when using it.
First and foremost, you'll need a system that has
make installed by default, which is usually any UNIX-like platform such as OS X or most Linux distributions. If you're using Windows, then you'll need to install something like MinGW or GNU for Windows.
Apart from that, the only thing you'll need to do to have this work is copy the
Makefile to your project directory.
In your terminal (or CLI of choice), navigate to your project directory (where you've copied the files above to) and then run the command
make with the target as the first and only command.
As an example, you could run
make list which outputs a helpful list of all the targets available:
These are the available targets for make: [target] > [anothertarget] [anothertarget] > This target does things [moretargets] > This target also does things
Though, by default, the only target you'll really want to run is the one that creates your WordPress installation for you:
If you've run into any issues with the Makefile then please feel free to create an issue on this repository. Provide as much information as possible.
Note: We won't provide support for
make in general, only for any issues with the commands we've written above.
